Deployment Analysis and Optimization of Heterogeneous Networks Under The Spectrum Underlay Strategy

To meet the growing mobile traffic demand, deployment of Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) is proposed as a solution to enhance network capacity. It will enable the coexistence of several systems consisting of macro, micro and femto or Wi-Fi layers. However, the main issue is the coexistence due to mutual interference. To guarantee that HetNet performance will not be compromised due to the interference, some deployment parameters should be controlled, such as primary exclusion zones and density of users.
