Now-a-days, music has become an important part of life. EDA (Electronic Design Automation) technology has extensive application in music performance circuit. This paper analyzes the principles of automatic music performance, the relationship between notes, frequency, beat and code. How to design main modules is describes in this paper. Based on Quartus II development tool, this design adopts the top-down programming methodology according to hierarchy and functional separation. In the hardware design, Altera EPIC6Q240C8 FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chip is taken as the core of system's control section.
