Design and Simulation of Rectangular Micro-Strip Patch Antenna for Wireless Communication

In this paper, the authors propose a patch antenna that uses rectangular slot as base construction. The simulation results show that an antenna with rectangular slot has improved bandwidth and return loss significantly with changing the frequency. Experimental results indicate that the impedance bandwidth, defined by -10dB return loss, of the proposed wide slot antenna can reach operating bandwidth of 319MHz at operating frequency about 4.6GHz which is 5 times greater than conventional rectangular micro-strip patch antenna.
