The study of microstrip patch antennas has made great progress in these days. This is mostly due to their versatility in terms of possible geometries that makes them applicable for many different situations. Compared with conventional antennas, microstrip patch antennas have more advantages and better prospects like low cost, lighter in weight, low profile, smaller in dimension, low volume and conformity and ease of fabrication. Theses microstrip patch antennas can provide dual-frequency operation, dual and circular polarizations, feed-line flexibility, frequency agility, broad band-width, beam scanning omni-directional patterning.
