Design of Multiband Monopole Antenna using Defected Ground Structure
A multiband monopole antenna is proposed for wireless applications that consist of a rectangular patch and two inverted L-shaped strips attached also having defected ground structure. The two inverted L-shaped strips are introduced for additional resonances. The antenna is fed by cross-shaped strip line for achieving bandwidth enhancement as well as extra resonance. The designed antenna operates over frequency ranges 2.20-2.61GHz, 3.25-3.91GHz and 4.92-6.38GHz suitable for wireless applications with good return loss. The proposed antenna has small dimensions 20301.6mm3.
