Design of Power Amplifier and Low Noise Amplifier for 2.4 GHz RF Front End in Wireless Sensor Network
There has been increasing interest of range extension in a wireless sensor network by using amplification in the transmitter as well as receiver signal paths. In this paper, the authors have attempted to design high gain amplifiers for 2.4GHz RF front end and simulation results have been presented. The designed power amplifier shows 26.6dB gain while the low noise amplifier gives 17.8dB gain with 0.7dB noise figure. It is observed that there can be an overall increase of about 5dB in the gain, and reduction of about 2dB in the noise figure as compared to commercially available RF front ends.
