Mobile Ad-hoc NETworks (MANETs) are composed of mobile nodes. In Mobile Ad-hoc NETworks (MANETs) nodes can freely move around while communicating with each other. It is a self configuring infrastructure less network. Each device in a MANET is free to move independently in any directions. The nodes participating in the packet forwarding should co-operate, if these nodes are not forwarding the packets to the destination then these nodes are considered as the selfish nodes. These selfish nodes detection is an important factor in the network performance. The detected selfish nodes are avoided from the routing path to avoid the lost of the packets.
