Mobile ad-hoc networks are formed of several mobile devices which communicate over a shared wireless medium. Due to distributed, infrastructure-less nature and lack of centralized authority of MANETs, the ad-hoc networks are vulnerable to various kinds of attacks. Because of the vast applications of MANET in fields of emergency networks, secure routing protocols are a must for exploiting the functionality of it. Blackhole attack is one of the most severe attacks because the attacker embeds itself into the route from source to destination by sending false RREP messages giving an impression that it has the freshest route to destination.
