Detection of Misbehaving Nodes Using an Enhanced Acknowledgment Based Intrusion Detection Technique in MANETs

Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a collection of independent mobile nodes equipped with both wireless transmitter and receiver that communicate with each other via bidirectional wireless links either directly or indirectly within the same communication range. MANET is widely used in military and emergency recovery situations due to their self-configuring capability. Since the nodes are widely distributed in MANETs, the malicious attackers can easily attack the entire system. Hence in order to overcome this problem, efficient Intrusion detection mechanisms have to be developed to protect MANETs from attacks.
