A Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) represents a system of wireless mobile nodes that can freely and dynamically self-organize into arbitrary and temporary network topologies, allowing people and devices to seamlessly communicate without any preexisting communication architecture. Some or possibly all of these nodes are mobile. There are several factors that affect the routing of packets in MANET. Performance of routing protocol is affected by mobility rate as well as mobility model used in the simulation. Mobility models play a very important role in determining the protocol performance, and used commonly are either non-realistic or semi-realistic.
