Employee time off policy
The purpose of this policy from TechRepublic Premium is to provide guidelines for requesting, filing and permitting paid/unpaid time off as well as to ensure coverage during holidays, vacation(s) and other absences where staffing levels must be consistent to meet the needs of the business.
From the policy:
TIME OFF GUIDELINES
All time off requests must go through the company-approved channel (online or physical forms). Verbal, handwritten or emailed requests should not be submitted and will not be considered valid. In the event of an employee emergency or illness, a time off request should be submitted after the time used.
Employee vacation time off requests will be processed on a “first come, first served” basis, except at the manager’s discretion.
Except in the case of emergencies, employees should provide sufficient advance notice (one week minimum) of time off so that staffing schedules and coverage can be arranged. Time off scheduling shall ensure that critical roles and functions in the organization such as IT pager duty or presence of medical staff/security personnel are appropriately maintained.
