An ad-hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes dynamically forming a temporary network without the use of any preexisting network infrastructure or centralized administration. However, due to the absence of central infrastructure the devices in the ad-hoc network can move randomly gives rise to various kind of problems, such as routing and security. The nodes in ad-hoc networks are typically battery powered. The need for energy efficiency in Mobile Ad-hoc NETworks (MANETs) requires power enhancement features.
