Energy-efficient communications as one of the promising technologies for 5G wireless communication systems have gained great attention. This paper investigates the energy aware resource allocation problem for the cognitive cellular network under the smart grid environment. Considering the Real-Time Pricing (RTP) model and the energy consumption model of the small cell base station, a net bit transmission benefit utility is designed. The optimization problem of maximizing the net bit transmission benefit as a Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) is put forward with the transmission rate constraint.
