DYMO is an effective reactive protocol for MANET. The DYMO protocol presents a variety of new features over AODV. DYMO offers adaption for topology changes and determines routes on-demand. The main activities are the route discovery and route maintenance mechanisms, achieved through its Route REQuisition (RREQ), Route REPly (RREP) and Route ERRor (RRER) messages. The performance evaluation shows that DYMO outperforms AODV as a MANET protocol. The enhanced DYMO protocol calculates the average of battery level of all the nodes available in the network. The average traffic level minus a threshold value gives the critical battery level. It develops a dynamic critical battery level.
