The wireless sensor network consist of sensors nodes that are distributed over large geographic region. Since, sensor nodes are deployed in harsh environment with low power batteries. This can lead to an occurrence of failure due to lack of energy. Number of techniques has been proposed to detect and recover the failed node with limited resources. In this paper, the authors proposed an enhanced DRFN technique by enhancing its failover scheme. The failover scheme will be enhanced using Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) based optimization. It will reduce the overall energy consumption further and also reduce the number of displacements occur in order to replace the failed node.
