Cognitive radio is an opportunistic communication technology designed to help unlicensed users utilize the maximum available licensed bandwidth. Cognitive operation differs from the traditional radios. The Radio operating behavior can be improved by running more communication concurrently by using cognitive radio. It brings new challenges in the design of future wireless networks. They are fluctuations in spectrum resources, channel quality variation by frequency selectivity, interference by different transmit power levels. This paper aims on reducing the interference and enhance system throughput by proposing greedy-Proportional Fair Scheduling (PFS).
