Virtual Network Computing (VNC) is a thin client application used to access remote files, documents and applications on the remote computer. In a way it achieves mobile computing. It uses an open protocol - RFB protocol i.e. independent of the computing platform. It consists of a server and clients'. N number of clients can connect to the server at any point of time, or a client can have multiple sessions of the remote desktops'. However, VNC suffers from lag or loss of packets in video display on the remote computer due to latency in the network.
