Tech Pro Research conducted a survey in October and November 2014 to look at enterprise startups: which ones are being used or evaluated, why people are behind them (or not), and what their factors for success may be. We asked about enterprise software to gauge how respondents viewed or used big company products. We also focused on the topics of what industries and fields respondents felt were ripe for startup disruption. What we found can be useful for startups and big companies alike, since we obtained feedback from our respondents on the trials and tribulations they had with both.
Here are some key findings from the report:
- Dropbox, Evernote and Github are the top three enterprise startups in use by respondents.
- The Internet of Things is seen as the most appropriate industry for startup disruption because it is an all-encompassing next step with transformative potential.
- IT and Technology is seen as the best field for startups to break new ground since it is an opportune field which undergoes constant evolution, driving all other fields before it.
