Evolutionary Design of Digital Circuits Using Improved Multi Expression Programming (IMEP)
Evolutionary electronics is a research area which involves application of evolutionary computation in the domain of electronics. It is seen as a quite promising alternative to overcome some drawbacks of conventional design. In this paper, the authors propose a methodology based on an Improved Multi-Expression Programming (IMEP) to automate the design of combinational logic circuits in which the authors aim to reach the functionality and to minimize the total number of used gates. MEP is a genetic Programming variant that uses linear chromosomes for solution encoding.
