Distributed systems operate upon the packets of data that rotates throughout the network; reliability becomes a key parameter in such networks; reliability of information, reliability of link and reliability of nodes plays a vital role in overall performance of the distributed systems. In distributed systems, operations have to be performed timely, correctly and importantly in reliable manner. Finding reliable communication in distributed system with constraints is shown to be NP-hard. Although some optimal algorithms have been employed in uniprocessor systems, they fail when they are applied in multiprocessor and distributed systems.
