Experiment Study of Link Time Varying on 802.15.4 Radio in Industrial Sensor Networks
The link layer characteristics are important for wireless sensor network protocol design, especially for IEEE802.15.4 radio which has been widely used in many standards. In industrial environments, link reliability is vulnerable to interferences. Previous works mainly focus on distance fading and irregularity of link reliability. However, there has been little work analysis on the temporal and frequency variations of the link reliability. In this paper, serial experiments in typical factories were made to realize the link characteristics of IEEE802.15.4 transceiver on all 16 channels.
