The SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) provides a method of managing network hosts such as workstation or server computers, routers, bridges and hubs from a centrally-located computer running network management software. SNMP performs management services by using a distributed architecture of management system and agent. The SNMP agents which are used to manage elements of IP networks, do not support upgrades to management data stored in Management Information Bases. So, this project extends the functionality of the SNMP agent. The generated extension agent extends the functionality of main SNMP agent i.e., new variables can be added or deleted from the MIB. T=he development and target platform are any PC running with Windows operating system.
