Femtosecond-Long Pulse-Based Modulation for Terahertz Band Communication in Nanonetworks
Nano-networks consist of nano-sized communicating devices which are able to perform simple tasks at the nanoscale. Nano-networks are the enabling technology of long awaited applications such as advanced health monitoring systems or high-performance distributed nano-computing architectures. The peculiarities of novel plasmonic nano-transceivers and nano-antennas, which operate in the Terahertz band (0.1-10THz), require the development of tailored communication schemes for nano-networks. In this paper, a modulation and channel access scheme for nano-networks in the Terahertz band is developed.
