Information security and authentication of person have become an important factor in security systems. Personal identification numbers or passwords and key devices such as smart cards are not reliable and accurate techniques in secure environments. Today biometric recognition is one of the most important techniques for the security. Single biometric systems suffer various problems such as noisy data, inter-class similarities, intra-class variations, non-universality and unacceptable error rate. To overcome these problematic issues, multimodal biometric systems are utilized. In this paper, a multimodal biometric system integrating fingerprint and speech in making a personal identification is introduced.
