Fixed and Mobile WiMAX: A Comparison Towards the Distance and Height Effects on Performance Degradation

Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access or WiMAX is a wireless communication system that can provide long distance wireless broadband access with high data throughput in a point to multipoint connection and line of sight or non-line of sight environment. There are two variants of the WiMAX standard called fixed and mobile WiMAX. Fixed WiMAX 802.16 delivers point to multipoint broadband wireless access to their homes and offices. This paper is to compare the performance of fixed and mobile WiMAX network within the sub urban area by simulating several scenarios.
