Forwarders Selection Mechanism Based on Packets Transmission Rate for Opportunistic Routing in Wireless Mesh Network
In this paper, a novel routing metric TRE (Transmission Rate based on EEPEST (End-to-End Probability of Effective Successful Transmission)) is proposed to choose the forwarder list, which is based on total effective successful transmission rate. It considers multi-links contribution, instead of one "Best" link information used in ETX. The extensive simulation results show that the opportunistic routing with the authors' TRE metrics can always outperform ETX based on ExOR scheme. The maximum benefit of the throughput using the TRE based on MORE can be 31.92% more than the ETX based on MORE, and the TRE based on ExOR has at most 2 times throughputs than the ETX based on ExOR.
