FPGA Implementation of a DA based 1D DCT Processor
In this paper a DA (Distributed Arithmetic) algorithm based architecture for DCT calculation is proposed and results are compared with the MATLAB results. Distributed Arithmetic (DA) is an important technique to implement digital signal processing DSP functions in FPGA. It is a powerful technique for reducing the size of a parallel hardware multiply-accumulate that is well suited to FPGA designs. XILINX's spartan 3E FPGA is targeted for this implementation. XILINX ISE foundation (10.1i) software is used.
