In a basic grid computing system, every computer can access the resources of every other computer belonging to the network. In the ideal grid computing system, every resource is shared, turning a computer network into a powerful supercomputer. It's a special kind of distributed computing. In distributed computing, different computers within the same network share one or more resources. Cloud computing is the use of a 3rd party service (Web Services) to perform computing needs. There are differences in the processing capabilities and functionality between the two. They also have a difference in their networks and the way they process the tasks.
