Groups & Teams
A work group consists of two or more people who interact regularly to achieve a common objective or goal. Different group members have different roles to play within the group. There are five stages in a group development process viz. forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. The group becomes a team when the individual members develop complimentary skills and develop interdependency towards attainment of the common goal. The paper examines group/team dynamics and discusses their development in organizations.
