SMEs play an essential role in economic life, having special features that make adaptation process to the knowledge-based economy easier. In a knowledge-based economy context, SMEs have significant impact over the economic growth of the Romanian economy. As education and human resource development tend to become future economy privilege in developed countries, natural resources are limited and production is still to be transferred to lower cost countries - the knowledge is the becoming a major resource. Interaction with others and active participation to human resources development require concrete knowledge held by the employee through feedback obtained, also individual performance recognition by others may be an important incentive for further study and professional development. Improving individual performance generates, by extension, organization favorable outcomes.
