An Automated Yield Monitoring System (AYMS) consisting of an optical yield sensor, a moisture sensor, a Global Positioning System (GPS), and a field computer with custom software was mounted on a self propelled indigenous grain combine harvester for real-time crop yield mapping. Two soybean fields were selected at Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal to evaluate the performance of the yield monitor for grain yield mapping. Real-time yield (t/ha) and moisture content (%) of grain were displayed on the field computer.
