In this paper, the authors investigate the problem of dynamic reconfiguration by means of a workflow-based paper used for discussion. They state the requirements on a system implementing the workflow and its reconfiguration, and they describe the system's design in BPMN. WS-BPEL, a language that would not naturally support dynamic change, is used as a target for implementation. The WS-BPEL recovery framework is here exploited to implement the reconfiguration using principles derived from previous research in process algebra and two mappings from BPMN to WSBPEL are presented, one automatic and only mostly manual.
