A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a self configuring infrastructure-less network of mobile devices connected by wireless links. In order to facilitate communication within the network, a routing protocol is used to discover routes between nodes. The Primary goal of ad hoc network routing protocol is correct and efficient route establishment between a pair of nodes so that messages may be delivered in a timely manner. In wireless mobile ad hoc networks, packet transmission is impaired by radio link fluctuations. This paper proposes an innovative Energy Efficient Channel Aware AOMDV (EECA-AOMDV) which is the extension of CA-AOMDV uses the Energy aware selection mechanism and the maximum nodal surplus energy estimation in the CA-AOMDV routing protocol to improve its energy performance in mobile ad-hoc networks.
