Incorporating Wireless Mesh Technology into Traditional Wi-Fi Networks
Over the years Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) have emerged as a key technology for next-generation wireless networking. It is a technique that has been tried with varying success by a number of proprietary broadband wireless technologies for some time. Today, the concept of intelligent mesh networks is a reality. This paper, the authors would first highlight the features of wireless mesh technology including its principle and operation. It will be followed by the introduction of Wi-Fi (802.11) and the subsequent incorporation of mesh technology into Wi-Fi.
