The brushless DC motors are used in various applications such as defense, industries, robotics, etc. In these applications, the motor should be precisely controlled to give the desired performance. This paper describes a position sensorless operation of Permanent Magnet BrushLess Direct Current (PMBLDC) motor and its speed control using LabVIEW. The sensorless position detection proposed in this paper is based on the detection of zero crossing points of the line voltage difference measured at the terminals of the motor using virtual instrumentation.
