Information Theoretic Bounds for Angle-Doppler Estimation in Time Reversal MIMO Communication
The paper derives analytical Cramer-Rao bound expressions for the Doppler-Angle estimators used in Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) communication systems. The authors' motivation is two folds. First, these analytical expressions are used as a measure of the optimal performance that an Angle-Doppler MIMO estimator can potentially achieve. Second, they illustrate the potential of improvement with the Time Reversal (TR) coupled MIMO Angle-Doppler estimator over its conventional counterpart. In their Monte Carlo simulations, the proposed TR/MIMO communication system provide gains of up to 5dB.
