Intel Atom Processor E6xx Series - Memory Design Optimization for Small Form Factor
The Intel Atom processor E6xx Series is one of the System-on-Chip products introduced in the embedded market. This product targets users who design their platforms specifically for embedded applications with sensitivity towards platform space and power. One of the methods, which greatly optimize platform space, is reducing the routing length and number of SDRAM usage. The current recommended memory design found in the Intel Atom processor E6xx Series Platform Design Guide (PDG) uses eight-load memory, which is not as optimal as dual- or four loads memory design.
