In this paper, the authors investigate and implementing trust based route selection in mobile wireless ad hoc networks. A system that stores and updates trust values for nodes encountered in Mobile Ad-hoc NETworks. Since a route consists of many nodes that are grouped, different strategies for evaluation of routes based of the nodes trust values have been designed and implemented. They apply trust based route selection to the DSR, AODV and DYMO Protocols, in order to secure the protocol and improve route selection, which can increase throughput in situations where malicious nodes are present in the network. To evaluate the performance impacts of applying trust based route selection in sending, receiving and forwarding of packets.
