In this paper design of microstrip patch array antenna for WLAN application is proposed. A new 2 element antenna array topology of microstrip E shaped patches for use in wireless applications is introduced in this paper. The active element pattern technique is applied for analyzing microstrip array, which reduces analysis problem and computation. The operating frequency range is from 1 to 3 GHz. The array is mounted on a low-cost FR4 substrate and is fed by a standard 50 Ohm coaxial feed. A special combined series and corporate feeding network is incorporated directly in the array.
