Methods For Channel Assignment In Infrastructure Based WLAN-A Survey
Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) are having tremendous growth and becoming increasingly popular. The use of the unlicensed frequency spectrum and the inexpensive network equipment has encouraged the deployment of WLANs. The planning of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) infrastructures that supply large buildings or areas requires the consideration of many aspects (coverage, different traffic densities, interference, cost minimization and network throughput) and therefore, is a difficult task if done manually. In this paper, the authors present a survey on the channel assignment techniques in IEEE 802.11.
