Multi-staged authentication is a security system that requires more than one form of authentication to verify the legitimacy of a transaction. It is also known as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as it combines two or more independent credentials: what the user knows (password), what the user has (security token) and what the user is (biometric verification). In this paper, the authors propose a new multifactor authentication framework. Multi-staged authentication provides a very high level security as compared to normal password authentication, thus this paper focuses light on authentication system that is more secure and highly usable, based on multi factor authentication approach.
