It may be the executive housekeeper's best friend. Same for the engineer and front office manager. Maybe even the general manager or owner. It's "The Rooms Chronicle," a 20-year-old bimonthly newsletter that provides up-to-date, nuts-and-bolts information on the latest techniques in hotelkeeping. Aleta Nitschke founded the publication in the early 1980s after retiring as corporate director of rooms management for Radisson Hotels. According to Frye, she was a proponent of self-directed education for hospitality managers and employees. The newsletter, which she donated to Niagara a few years ago, includes stories written by industry consultants, practitioners and academics.
