The recently proposed Software-Defined Networking (SDN) paradigm aims at enabling rapid innovations and reducing operational cost in the network equipments with the separation of the control and data plane. The network switches support the simple forwarding functions while the complex control logics are implemented in a logically centralized controller using software. While such decoupling of hardware and software empowers the programmability of the network management, the unregulated level of programmability opens up opportunities for malicious applications to compromise the network entirely.
