In this paper, the authors applied an Optimal Multirate Control Method (OMCM) to a linear discrete power system model (derived from its associated linear continuous model), in order to design a suitable excitation controller and thus enhance in a robust manner the dynamic stability characteristics of the physical system under consideration. The relevant computer simulation results, based on a practical power system, demonstrated clearly the validity, suitability, effectiveness and implement ability of the so accomplished controller design.
