Optimal Power Flow (OPF) is an operating condition in which the power flow in an electrical system occurs optimally. The OPF problem solution aims to optimize a selected objective function such as fuel cost via optimal adjustment of the power system control variables, while at the same time satisfying various equality and inequality constraints. This paper presents optimal power flow technique namely multi swarm optimization with FACTS device. This method is used to solve the nonlinear and non-convex optimization problem.
