A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a self configuring infrastructure less network of mobile devices connected by wireless. Power heterogeneity is common in mobile ad hoc networks. By using high power nodes mobile ad-hoc network can improve network broadcasting robustness, scalability and connectivity. The high power nodes are severely impacted by the throughput of power heterogeneous MANETs. To overcome this problem, the authors present a Loose-Virtual-Clustering based (LVC) Routing Protocol for power Heterogeneous (LRPH) MANETs. To address the advantages of high power nodes they develop an LVC algorithm to construct a hierarchical network and to eliminate unidirectional links.
