Service-oriented computing is an emerging cross disciplinary good example for distributed computing, which is changing the way software applications are designed, delivered and consumed. At the heart of service-oriented computing are services that provide independent, platform independent, computational elements that can be described, published, discovered, mobilized and programmed using standard protocols to build networks of collaborating applications distributed within and across organizational boundaries. A critical issue of utilizing SOC is to have a scalable, reliable, and robust service discovery mechanism. To address these problems, this paper proposes a peer-to-peer based decentralized service discovery approach named Chord4S.
