Performance Analysis of Load Based Energy-Saving Strategies for Real Time Traffic in IEEE 802.16e
In wireless and mobile telecommunication systems, the handheld mobile devices completely sustains on lightweight batteries for power supply. This mobile station dissipates lots of energy if it listens to base station continuously for intended messages. This paper presents a discrete time renewal input single and batch service queuing system with accessibility to the batches which is capable of calculating the power efficiency and packet access delay for the power saving type II. A cost model is developed to determine the optimum service rates which minimize the total expected cost.
