Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is a wireless network of autonomous mobile nodes that are connected dynamically to form a random infrastructure-less topology. All the mobile nodes in MANET serves as a single entity and also serves as router by providing routes to other communicating nodes and forwarding packets allowing in establishment of temporary topology. Routing is a critical and important aspect in wireless network. Some sort of routing mechanism is needed in MANET because nodes are highly dynamic and topology is changing in timely manner i.e. routes are establishing and terminating rapidly.
