Mobile ad hoc networks are characterized by lack of infrastructure, random and quickly changing network topology; thus there is a need for a robust dynamic routing protocol that can accommodate such an environment. At the same time as the emergence of multimedia in mobile ad hoc networks, research for the introduction of the Quality of Service (QoS) has received much attention. However, when designing a QoS solution, the estimation of the available resources still represents one of the main issues. In this paper, the authors propose an approach to estimate available resources on a node and so of the route between a pair of source and destination.
